Tech Tip: Unleash the Inner Geek

Topics: Weekly Tech Tip

In my introduction a couple of weeks ago, I alluded to some of the shiny new cool things we were about to unveil. Our resource library, the expanded blog, and now… The University.

The Imagine More University’s first semester starts next Monday, July 19th with two inaugural classes. YouSchool is a personal development series designed to finding, finessing and then making your dreams reality. Your dreams – not someone else’s definition of success, or wealth or happiness. It’s the ultimate lifestyle redesign. (For more information on YouSchool, visit this link)

And then there’s GeekSchool.

GeekSchool is a simple, step-by-step, systematic approach to incorporating technology into your business and personal world, buying you back the time you need to really live your life.

Broken down, GeekSchool goes like this:

Each day, you’ll receive a lesson in email. The day’s lesson will consist of a short video, 2-3 articles to read, an assignment to complete and a link to the topic’s discussion forum. Each day’s lesson is designed to be between 15-30 minutes long. No more. The lessons build on one another, and they’re available online as long as you need them – so if you miss a day, you can catch up quickly. It’s designed for busy working folks who need the skills, but not the pressure.

Each week, the instructor will host a live Q&A session where you can come and ask questions, get feedback and reinforce what you learned that week. Think of it as a study hall – where you can ask for specialized assistance and personalized help. That’s what makes it different than other online learning systems.

And once you’ve mastered organization using smart tools, you’re ready to tackle the brave new world of…

Weeks 5-8 – Social Media

Social Media can help you grow your business exponentially, or threaten to take over your life if you’re not careful. These lessons give you a great overview of

  • How to use Social Media responsibly, without alienating friends, colleagues and potential customers.
  • How to build a great Twitter profile and custom background,
  • How to find and retain friends and followers,
  • How to use the new social currency to let your customers do you talking
  • How to gracefully respond to issues.

And we’re still not done!

Weeks 9-12 – Websites and Blogs

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a key employee, or just ready to gain new skills, these lessons are invaluable. We’ll look under the hood at some successful sites, break down what makes them tick, and show you how you can have the same success. We’ll blueprint your web strategy – whether it’s a full website selling products, or a blog selling yourself. You’ll get no less than 50 great website resources for linking your site to social media sites (without spending double time) and other great free tools for graphics and editing.

In less than 30 minutes per day you can build a site or blog ready for the search engines, and the hordes of customers or visitors you’re wanting to attract.

It’s a technology business plan, ready to execute. So, what’s the catch? It’s only available for the first 100 registrants.

We want to be sure that every participant gets the maximum attention from us.

Class starts Monday, July 19th – and Remember – Registration is Limited.
